§ 73.21. POLICE RADIO SETS PROHIBITED; EXCEPTIONS.

  • (A) It shall be unlawful for any person to equip or operate inside Louisville Metro any motor vehicle with a high frequency police radio receiving set, unless the individual fits within the exceptions provided in KRS 432.570.
    (B) If an individual meets the conditions of KRS 432.570, and is not a member of a police department or police force, then that person must have written authorization from the Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department in order to have such a police radio receiving set in his or her possession or vehicle.
    (C) This section shall not apply to members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department who have a radio communications system licensed to them by the Federal Communications Commission or other federal agency authorized to license same.
